How does Tutoring Work at Telos Academy?
In addition to the standard interventions and accommodations offered to students, Telos Academy does coordinate content tutoring for student on an as-needed basis approved by Academic Administration. While there are not set requirements to qualify to become a tutor, the following considerations are made when considering proper content tutors:
If you are interested in tutoring, please contact the Academic Director. Tutors who provide regular services are compensated through Telos Academy and positions rotate according to present student need.
- Experience with the needed content and curriculum
- Up to date BCI
- Familiarity with Telos Academy procedures
- Ability to work with students successfully

How do Telos Academy Tutors receive compensation for their services?
If you are providing billable services for the Academy, you are responsible to report the services you provide. Prior to receiving compensation for your tutoring hours, you are required to submit two forms to Academic Administration. Without proper submission of a Tutor Report Form & Tutoring Billing Hours Log you may not receive the proper compensation for your work.

The Tutor Report Form is a PDF file which can be filled in electronically. Once you have filled in all the required information, you will need to save this PDF (see the caution below to avoid losing your work when you save it). Be sure to save this file locally to you computer before you begin to input the field. Do not fill in the form and save it from your browser (Internet Explore/Firefox/Safari) unless you use the Print PDF function as explained below:
Please use the following format when you are saving your file: NameLastInitial_current date.pdf (e.g. KevinK_29Feb2015.pdf)
***NOTE: When attempting to save your PDF to include your information it usually works better to 'print' your pdf digitally rather than just save it to your hard drive. Some computers do not save the filled information automatically, but when you print it as a pdf, it ensures it contains your entered information.
If you are using the Chrome browser use the Print button, then click 'Save as PDF' as your destination printer
If you are using Firefox, it may not allow you to fill in the forms, but will prompt you to open in Adobe Reader
If you are using Adobe Reader, make sure to use the 'Save As' function
