Past Academic Advisers for Telos Academy
Kim Weight advised the Mizuno and Zoot teams during the 2014-2015 calendar years. She assisted in the piloting of key training materials and communication models between Tx Team and the teachers at Telos Academy. Kim was the first outside hire by Telos Academy to advise students living in-house. She advised over 30 students during her tenure at the Academy and combined her training in recreational therapy with the advisement model to create a rich nurturing environment for the students she worked with.

Kerry Downs was the original Academic Adviser for the Anthem House when the Academic Advisement program was expanded in 2013. Kerry pioneered the approach that is taken with college freshman who reside at Anthem and established a regular meeting consult schedule with each student. Kerry's system of communication between Anthem advocates and the Academy is still used though Kerry has left advisement to teach full-time at the Academy where he frequently helps students work through their academic/clinical challenges in the classroom.

Randi Bevins was the primary Academic Adviser for the Zoot and Mizuno teams during the 2013-2014 academic year. Randi contributed to the first iteration of academic advisement and piloted the process of treatment team reporting and data collection from classroom teachers. Randi served as an Academic Adviser until she was recruited to teach Math full time at Telos Academy which she did for several years.

Mary Baum was an Anthem House adviser during the 2014-2015 academic year. In addition to advising Anthem students, Mary also was an instructor in both the social studies and art departments at Telos Academy. Her artwork pursuits recommenced at a prestigious program on the East Coast and Mary concluded her service at Telos at the end of the academic year. Lexi Probst worked at Telos in a variety of capacities and served as the Academic Adviser for the students at the Anthem House for several years before pivoting her professional duties toward her growing family. She helped pioneer the Anthem approach for the students stay aware of their academic demands and informing them of their resources and expectations.
In addition to advising Anthem students, Lexi was an instructor in both the social studies and elective departments at Telos Academy. She attended UVU and was a soccer standout as a defender for the Wolverines. |
