What is Academic Advisement?
The mission of Academic Advisement is to help all stakeholders of Telos Academy reach their ultimate potential by:
- Being informed of the resources, procedures and best practices that Telos uses to support students
- Accurately assessing & reporting the abilities, needs and behavior of each student
- Becoming competent at employing the strategies, accommodations and interventions our students need to learn
- Assisting in administering the resources of Telos Academy
Who serves on the Advisement Team?
Brian Walker - Lead Academic AdviserBrian has been an academic adviser for Telos Academy since his hire in 2009. He taught Social Studies at Telos for 5 years before taking over as Lead Academic Adviser in 2014. Brian advises all students who are admitted into Telos RTC.
Before coming to Telos, Brian was involving in teacher training and development at Brigham Young University for several years. |

Kailee Kartchner - Senior House / Telos U Adviser
Kailee has worked at Telos U as a life coach for the past since 2016 assisting the development of both Telos U and Senior House academic programs. She graduated with a BS in Psychology from BYU-Hawaii as a student athlete. Prior to Telos she worked within the theraputic education realm; from ABA therapy with young children to working with adolescents/adults as a wilderness guide with Aspiro discovering what career she wanted to pursue. She is currently in her second year of her graduate program with USU with goals to obtain a masters in education to becoming a school counselor.
